In Memory of Andrew Ingram

Andrew Ingram joined BIAC in 2008 through our Learn To Row program. He came to love the sport of rowing as quickly as his team mates came to love him. He was a talented and passionate Electrical Engineer at Tesla Motors who lived in Palo Alto. He was best known at BIAC for his lycra rowing shorts that looked like real denim cutoffs.

Andrew, age 31, died tragically on February 17, 2010 around 8:00 am when a twin engine Cessna crashed in East Palo Alto with two other Tesla employees (pilot Doug Bourn 56 and Brian Finn 42) on board. Fortunately no one on the ground was injured. May they rest in peace.

A quote from the ether:
"Words cannot express what was lost in this accident. Andrew was my best friend.
He was the most kind hearted person and absolutely loved his job, he loved fast cars, audio, and our environment and working at Tesla let him do all three.
The world lost some very good men on Wednesday and I hope that the world and Tesla continues to remember them and keeps their ideals alive."
San Jose, CA.

BIAC will be dedicating a double racing shell, in Andrew's memory on November 21, 2010 at its annual Fall Regatta.
