The Bair Island Aquatic Center is proud to host the 1st BIAC Drag Races - an Adaptive Scrimmage.
Our schedule is currently being firmed up but the basic details are:
8am Arrival and Launch
8:45AM - Boat Parade/Course Row Out
9:00AM - Match Races
9:30AM - Challenge Races and Equipment Swaps
10:30AM - Off the water for some food and fun
There will likely be some flexibility to the schedule. Members are welcome to row with our adaptive athletes provided if there is an open space.
Volunteers are still needed in several areas:
-Equipment Handling
-Dock Assistants
-Course attendants (on land, and in launches)
-Parking Czar
Please contact Mike Sullivan or Jim Wojcik if interested in helping or with any questions.
Lunch will be burgers and dogs, and we ask that you bring a side or dessert to share.
Parking at BIAC is mostly street parking but the South Lot will be open as well. Please carpool when possible. Additionally, much of the parking nearest to the boathouse will be reserved for the participants so please leave those spaces open.
For the best views of the course there is a walking path behind the buildings at 505 Penobscot Dr, it's about a 5 minute drive over there from BIAC.
